Ok guys, need some help. This is actually an old problem that I thoght I had solved, but as I discovered today, apparently not. Something is eating my Duncan corals. When this happened the last time a few months ago I determined the culprit to be a rather large rouge hermit crab so I took all of them out and haven’t seen any since then. However, today I came downstairs to find half of my Duncan heads gone… I’ve had it about a month with no problems. What the heck is eating it? All I have left are snails and fish. Fish are: 3 clowns, blue tail damsel, goldbar damsel, 2 engineer gobies, domino damsel, yellow tang, coral beauty, 6. Line wrasse, gold head sleeper goby, oh and 2 sand sifting stars( they never leave the sand bed though). I’ve never seen anyone picking on any of the corals in the past. Dont know what to do about this, I love my Duncan’s, and am assuming a torch wouldn’t be safe either since I previously lost one of those as well… Any ideas???
ive heard that coral beauties can eat corals but it is very uncommon
If something is eating it I would watch the tang and coral beauty. I have seen tangs hitting up corals thinking its food. Oh and now I think of it I have seen hermit crabs cutting the tentacles of my rose bubble tip.
