The water in your tank can only go to the bottom of the slots in your overflow chamber, no matter how low your Durso is.
my problem now is that my pipe is stuck in the bulkhead any ideas other than draining out the water till the overflow is empty
If it is not glued in the bulkhead just twist it using a strap wrench or something like it. (a jar opener or pipe wrench.) Then pull up while twisting. Just don’t break off the pipe.
I tried that but the bulkhead started to unthread instead
Have you tried to gently rock the pipe left & right? Not too much, you don’t want to break the bulkhead like I did before. (lucky it was empty)
Yeah I tried rocking it too. I’m gonna drain some water out and pull the whole pipe and bulkhead out tomorrow
so i lowered it about another 3/4" and no its perfect and i can run the return fully open

That’s great, now get that strainer.
