Ecotech products on sale!

As many of you know Ecotech Marine, the makers of Vortech wave pumps, are a stand up US based company right across the line in PA. They help support local fish stores by penalizing online retailers if they sell products less then a set price. This way wither you buy your Vortech MP40 from Delaware’s Premium Aquatics, Foster and Smith, Marine Depot, or That Pet Place it is all the same price. This is good incentive to buy from quality local stores and you can keep your money local and not have to spend more to do so.

That Pet Place has been warned and penalized in the past for putting their Vortechs on sale, so they found another way around it. There whole site is 10% off with “no exclusions”, so they raised the price of their Vortechs 10%.

So don’t get fooled, save the gas money(and CO2 footprint of a long drive on a summer day), and keep support your quality local fish stores!

(as if it wasn’t bad enough that every online coral vendor doubled their prices last year and listed everything an amazing 50% off “for two days online!” “sale extended once again, but hurry soon”!) Sensational bs ads.

Find a single instance of Marineland standing up for a local fish store, such as yours, and cutting off supply to an online store because they were selling things less then MAP. If they started they would likely have to stop selling to Walmart, Petco, and Petsmart. Check your wholesale list on a mini bowfront kit then head to Walmart. Fact is your customers are better off buying that at Walmart as they can get a cheaper price then the wholesalers off you. One small example as there are many.

Now try calling Marineland directly and talk to anyone who knows anything.(joke)

Actually I would be surprised if anyone could find an example of any other aquarium company enforcing MAP or even attempting to.
