These reefkeeper’s are amazing. I have 8 outlets and on top of having light timers set up, I also have my heaters and cooling fans set up on temp. set points. My 2 120mm 120v AC cooling fans drop the water temp half a degree in a half hour!
No you have to have the head unit, what you see at the bottom are indicator lights and manual trip/reset switches. The basic RK lite comes with 1 head unit, 1 PC4, 1 system lab, and a temp probe, but I wanted two PC4’s and a PH probe so I got the next step up.
If you are in the market for a new controller I would highly recomend looking at the new APEX Jr. due out sometime next month, built-in eithernet and webserver in the basic $150.00 unit.
Which means controlling all aspects from configuring to monitoring and turning things off and on right from your Iphone, Droid or PC at no extra cost for a net module.
After update I had both of my PC4 lockup, made them unusable for few weeks while DA was figuring out bugs in sw. I had to work through a lots problems with them, learned a lot. Let me know if you have any Q. Reef looks awesome btw.

Tim are the power strips controllable right from the strip?
I’m trying to figure out what’s on the bottom of the DC4s.[/quote]
Craig do you mean old DC4s or the PC4s which are pictured?

Sure no is the right answer? Controlling I am pretty sure you can, programming you can now.
I think the switch came a while ago when the RKE was realized not just the light package. I don’t use the Digital Aquatics crap daily, but I am pretty sure the row of four square buttons on the PC4s can switch the outlets through Manual On to Manual OFF to Auto.
For anyone looking at controllers you can purchase a DA and try to contact them on the phone or Rosti for helps with the head aches(I’d suggest purchasing head ache meds in bulk as well if you go that route) or you can purchase a Neptune controller and avoid the headaches.
Why would I say no if I wasn’t sure? I did just spend half a night reading and programming the thing…
What you see on the bottom is only printed diagrams of the outlets showing the AMP ratings and LED indicator lights and 1 toggle switch on/off for the whole strip same as a standard power strip.
