first Clam

so i was going through frederick today and decided to stop in to Mr. Coral to check out their retail store. i was looking around at the corals which they have alot of frags there its pretty crazy and they had two clams marked 40 each and the one was pretty good sized and looked pretty good so i snatched it up along with a trumpet coral frag and a duncan frag. the clam is probably about 3.5" and even after the 3 hour ride home after i acclimated him he opened fully up after about 20 minutes. it wasnt marked what type it was but i think it is a crocea i will try to put pics up tomorrow. the store is kinda dumpy looking but they had alot of frags and nice colonies if anyone is over that way i would definitely check em out. so now i have my first clam i can join in even more and im sure Paul will post soon just because the topic says clam in it lOl

Good luck with the clam Ben. They do have great selection of frags there at the store and on their website. Too bad their corals don’t do good in shipping. That’s why if given an opportunity to go there and buy frags, I’d stock up.

we want 2 pics at least. top down is most important!!!

This is a family forum Paul.

::rofl::

here is a photo (sorry Paul no top down yet), but how does everyone take their top down shots im obviously not gonna dunk my camera in the water so what do you use as a viewing window

nice clam. td shots are tough, but great. i have a floating thing that allows me to do it, made by eshoppes. @25$, but a clear tupperware will do the same thing, w/some distortion.
craig, it all depends on what family, ya know!

Nice looking clam!! ::thumbsup::

If Paul offers to come over and take pics of it make sure his hands stay dry… ::rofl:: ::rofl:: ::rofl::
