Fish ID ?

Third picture, I was told he was native to the bay. Has been less then 2" for the last year and I don’t think he’s grown, but I am not sure how much he gets to eat because of my purple tang.

BROKEN LINK REMOVED

Any ideas? He’s benthic, spends all his time at the bottom. Some sort of goby?

Its a gobie but i dont think its native to the bay. I just looked at all the species that are native to both the Delaware and Chesapeake bays and it dosent look even close to anything. Where did you get it?

A friend of mine used to work for a pet shop in Rehoboth that is now closed. There were several people that could collect local things and bring them into the store, so I didn’t doubt for a second they were local. I had spend some time looking through the local species as well and didn’t find much, but figured there were a lot of people on this board that fish, so I would try my luck. I have three species of hermit, two species of snail, and never any that I know of.

It kinda looks like a sculpin. Hard to tell with just one pic.

Will see if I have more images. Hard to get snap shots as he is a cryptic little guy that doesn’t come out much.

Hope its not a northern stargazer…I had one once ,caught from the bay up in Long Island…It ate every small fish that swam by it…looked kinda like what u got there…

Seems similar to some sculpin, which is a common name for a good number of species in several genus, didn’t find any images that looked like a dead match. Doesn’t really look like a stargazer though could be a very small juvenile whose growth is stunted by my hungry tang.
