I have a fish stuck in one of my corner overflows and I was wondering if I could pull out the drain pipe so he would get sucked down into the sump? I never glued the drain pipe into the bulkhead only the return. Should I just shut down power or do it when the pumps are running? Or not touch it at all. Any thoughts…
Matt i had the same issue several times with a wrasse. As long as the fish will fit in the pipe wth out harm i would just put a net under it and catch him as he falls out
The fish is a wrasse so it should fit no problem. If I pull the drain pipe will it mess with my water level! Do I do it with pumps on or off? I was thinking on so it would get sucked down.
It will raise water level the amount of the overflow, not sure if your sump can handle the extra for a short time, i would leave the pump running, just put a net at the drain where it comes into the sump.
How did you make out? we have had a clown stuck in there a few times and just used a piece of pvc pipe to heard him around and a net in other hand to catch him in. it took awhile and a lot of patience but we go it out
