Hey gang - I just got off the phone with the guy that owns the building Fishman was in.
Looks like when they closed they just locked the door and left. Most of the good stuff has been cleaned out but all of the tanks are still there.
Dwight - the owner will be at the store from 12-5 tomorrow only. Saturday he is heading back to Virginia. Tanks will be on a first come first serve basis, and will be priced at “about a buck a gallon” he said there is everything from 10g to 200g tanks.
Cash only - needs to go tomorrow.
I think negotiation will be easy and be key in getting some helluva good deals.
I’ll be stuck at work so I can’t make it, but if you can get there it sounds like there’s some deals to be had.
I only saw a few standing tanks on the floors, didn’t look like anything above a 75… 200 must be in the wall one? And I thought he has 2 large in the wall ones. One on right is a little bigger than left one. Gramma, 202 south bound lanes, just south of pepboys, 7-11 ect, just north of 141.
I was in there the day after he started his sale. I asked to be reminded when the big tanks were going up. Never got my notice. Anyway The four display tanks are 220…220…190…& 190 He originally said the 220 would be 350…I would sure like to get one for 220

Just a word of caution , most of these are most likey the ones drilled for daisy chain plumbing and may have also had any combination of meds or copper salts added at one time or another.
The 200 gallon tank mentioned, I was told its a 210 and it’s those diplay tanks they had in the wall they where in ahh ok shape a little beat then they have all those drilled 10 gallon display tanks that look horrable. Personally The only tank I wanted was that 54 gallon corner tank in the far right corner of the store comes with stand and wet dry they told me $2oo or something. And said if it didn’t sell one of the owners friends was gonna take it I might go up ther to see what happend to it.
I spent the afternoon rumaging there. There was no power or heat. so it was dark, cold, and the floors were strewn with torn lumber, trash, broken glass, gravel and lots of old grungy water. Mostly what was left was the store tanks in the racks nd the walls. and anything in the back sump roomss you could find. A couple guys spent a couple hours doing a demo on thee divider wall with 2 of the 220G tanks in it. they bought one and where coming back for another. i think all 4 were sold but only one removed when i left at 4PM. maybe one fell through. might be available. all the hundreds of 10a, 15s 20s 30s where either stacked in the garage or still plumbed into the racks and still full of rank water. so you had to drain them and dump the water down a drain with whatever you could find… tubing, hose, buckets.
I set my sites on a 40 long over one sink on a high shelf. looked fairly new. so i spent some time syphoning water out, then scooped out the gravel, pulled out some molding in front on the shelf and some friends helped me carry it to the car. got a 400w heater, fairly new also, and a NO T5 strip light for grand total $32. I will use it for a planted Fresh Water Fancy Guppy breeding tank. i already have a stand for it . So it was a good trip. cold. damp, and dark, but fun and met some aquaintances there. Guys from ECA and Armco got a truck load of stuff and aqua maintenance too. so its thinning out.
there are still more tanks and junk to go. so the building owner will be back all day saturday too to sell some more, and clean up. Bring a flashlight and a hose.
