Got an amazingly large piece from Martin family… It has to be one of the hardiest corals ever. I have 2 medium (3x3) frags of it, and one tiny, because it needed some pruning…
I think a lot of people here already have it, but its a nice beginning leather if someone wants a piece let me know…
Could try both Williams Greenbank and DPA to see if they would take it for free. Both are starting up very large brand new coral sections and should have plenty of room. I would call ahead first though.
I know right Martin, damn its been a month and tripled in size…
williams greenbank is behind petboys right? i stopped by there the other night, got a firefish and a shrimp and a coral… he had a lot of softies… wait all softies, and what looked like green palythoa grandis… or really large nuc greens… and a wonderful 12" yellow toadstool…
ill post a review and pics of new stuff when i add to the tank…
Leathers release a lot of toxins in the bag and aren’t always the best shippers. Ken ask Glen what he things, but you might want to see if you could meet somewhere earlier, so it doesn’t sit in the bag as long.
I was thinking that too, was going to use a gal bag, and the whole 6x6 peice sat in the bag at the frag swap for the 2.5 hours you ranted, then again in the same bag for 1.5 hours back home…
If you want we can meet somewhere sooner, i have to go to TFB at 1:30 on Sat… but it lasted 4 hours with a much larger piece before… and if it dosent make it i have plenty more lol…
Then again this is a real expensive coral. Probably should bring it in a 5g bucket and have him hand deliver it so there is no transfer inbetween and it goes frone one place right to the other. Might have him do a practice run as well so he doesn’t get lost.
if you are going to transport it too the dinner then atleast a gallon bag completly full of water and in cooler. should be ok for just a few hours . it will be in a grumpy mood for a few days afterwards. but should be ok.
Its really up to you, it will always recover i think you could prob leave it out of the tank for a month and it would be fine… If you dont mind getting it at th dinner i think that would be the easiest for both of us, or i can meet you somewhere… up to you and how long you want to keep the coral out of a tank…

ohh hey do you have a pic or it by any chance, just curious to what kind it is.
Ya i can take one… its sitting in a holding tank now so its a little shriveled up, but it opens in the day… its like a light purple for me during the day, but i dunno what it is like for martin, or other peeps…
