Ted, they wont allow you to look at pictures from photobucket? That sucks.
For the image I used I just took what was posted in the forum during the competition and uploaded that. If I can get a higher res image I could use that but for the size of the logo that we are using it appears to look fine.
Sorry im late to the thread, but ill add my :TWOCENTS
What i think works best, and always gets my attention, is a trifiold brochure/pamphlet. Its a nice compromise between a business card and flyer. Not to big, not to small. You put the most important stuff on the front like logo, contact info, one or two lines. If they are interested, they will pick it up and look through. The more stuff we put in the brochure, the more active we look and the more appealing we would be to some potentially interested. Also, the quality of home printers these days are amazing. We could print the same quality brochures as a printer, cheaper…the only thing we couldnt do(cheaply) is embossing.
BTW, i agree with Ted, a pdf is the way to go for a “clean” copy.
1 with Ted and Shawn
Also the holders we already have will hold 1 8x11 flyer and will hold tri-fold brochures. This would look much more professional
We have business card holders. I think we have 6. Before we put any of the acrylics out we need to label them so we can make sure they are used only for our stuff.(Also so we get them back) They were not cheap.
A trifiold brochure/pamphlet may take a minute to create and debate over, but the biz card is short and sweet. Wouldn’t hurt at all to do both. If we want to create a brochure or pamphlet we need someone to come up with a proposed lay out.
For time being lets get these biz cards in the stores. I’ve been begging to have them to hand out for over a year now and now other retailers are asking for them as well. $5 - $20 is a drop in the bucket compared to the size of the current bank account which we have little plans to use.
I move print 250 in this lay out for time being so we can get started.
Can someone please second this and we can debate on what do in addition later.
I’ll 2nd. Andy, could you email me a high res version of the logo? I’m not sure we need it since the logo will be so small, but it cant hurt to use it. My email is breynolds@mail.une.edu
we can always change the card design from time to time, so as to create a COLLECTOR card, limited editions series. You know, like “Lou {the Toe} Groza” football trading cards or something… don’t ask sports fans, just look him up on Wikipedia. he was great!

I disagree. I think we should order the 1K. here’s why:
250 cost $26.50 or $.11 per card.
1000 cost $40 or $.04 per card.
I vote we place an initial order for a thousand. We can always staple the cards to the pamphlets if we go with the tri-folds before running out of cards.
I agree on 1000, but just wasn’t sure I could talk anyone into spending that much money. I think we could use 1000 up in no time. There are a lot of stores to hit.
of course, go for the bigger lot. and we can pass them around. we got the money. just havent been spending any due to technical difugalties. like, no design. so lets go. it looks like a good start. and can always be improved in time.
No biggie who orders or no huge rush. Just wanted to make sure this didn’t become a great idea that we never ended up carrying through on. I’ll order on Thursday if no one has any objections.
Read that as speak now or forever hold your piece. lol
Anyone have any better ideas then to try out this cheap stuff for starters? Craig, Andy, or anyone else, have any other sources we should try?
I’m ordering tomorrow one way or the other. I have no personal experience with either accept for seeing there advertisements, so I’ll go with Craig’s recommendation.
