Hello. I am writing an article for Marine Fish and Reef magazine and am interviewing reefkeepers at various clubs and societies to get some input. If someone in your society may like to participate, I would appreciate having this e-mail forwarded to them. Also, most likely, they will be quoted somewhere in the article, giving your society a bit of exposure.
The topic is an enjoyable one: the past 15 years of reefkeeping. To give the readers the best info out there, I am asking a few questions about the hobby and where it might be headed. The questions are below. You can answer any of the questions you like and skip any that you do not wish to answer. Please send answers by Wednesday, September 12th.
-
What animals do you keep now that were impossible to keep about 15 years ago? What technology or new methodologies have enabled you to keep these animals? (This can include things like dosing, plenums, etc., as well as equipment.)
-
What do you think the most positive change in the hobby has been in the last 15 years? Have there been any negative changes in the hobby?
-
What do you think is the biggest challenge for today’s reefkeeper? Do you have any ideas on how hobbyists can overcome this?
-
If someone asked you for a recipe for success in keeping reef tanks, what would that be?
-
Do you feel any of your setups are the “ideal” reef? If not, what type of technology might help you attain your perfect setup?
-
What is your name, society name and (if applicable) title you hold at your society, as you would like them printed in the magazine?
Thank you!
