Ghost Town

WoW!!! :think) :GOLD)

This site needs some new life…it is slowly turning into a GHOST TOWN. :FLUSH)

What’s up people, don’t you have any questions about your tank, or show other members new items, like corals or equipment you may have gotten for Christmas.

What about all the frags that were given out at the Christmas dinner? ???

Come on, let’s breathe some life into this place. BoNg PBJ! ::rofl::

Yes, Or better still, Show up for some meetings In Real Life when you can. That is the heart of a club. A little monthly face time does a club and Members good! I have to say, Houndsbayman has made probably the longest commute of 2 hours each way too many times to recount, to trade corals and share slide shows and stuff at our meetings. Yup participation is the key to happiness.

I said this a few weeks ago!

How about starting with pics from every member of their tank. So this way we would know what member to associate with what kind of tank they own.

Maybe even create a forum that’s called “Members Photo Gallery”, that holds pics of each members tank under their username and the member is the only one that can add pics to it. Kind of like our own little photobucket.

Just a thought.

I like the idea john but what good is the idea if its only you me and ken? :FLUSH) and ken is throwing in the towel too!

Hey fellas don’t count me out. Inlaws were in town lol. I’m down for the thread as well.

OK make it wait a little bit, testing is done on the new site I will have it up this weekend and deal with any fallout then

Everything there now will be overwritten.

I say when we move to the new site we have some contest maybe even weekly contest at first to drive up the action.

We need someone to step up and work with Marty to do a budget for rewards and prizes.

Im all for helping. I think we need to do another meet and greet like last year at lfs! We should maybe do a few. I know everytime i go in the fishbowl i talk to sombody who doesnt even know about the site or the club!

store greetings is a god idea. Bryant, Scott and Dianne had good results with the one they did at DPA last year. Did you do one also in Dover?

Hey guys! I have been elected for the new officer position (social chair). If elected part of my responsibility will be to set up member drives, maintain social media. etc. So I am hoping to be successful with these and get us some new members. I plan to set up several drives at several different places in sussex kent and new castle counties. Hopefully get this forum more active as well.

Glad to hear it Karen!! We got 10 new members at the last membership drive at DPA which I considered very successful.

I drafted a couple yesterday at the fish bowl. Hope they join us soon.

I like the idea of contests. And honestly, the bigger the prize, the more participation we’ll get. Getting people to show up at meetings is one thing, but we really need to get people posting as well. This site is the place where those too far away to come to the meetings can join us … ie Bellamy in Florida.

So here’s my suggestion:
A show us your tank thread. Everyone that posts a picture gets an entry in to a raffle.
Start a new thread. Get an entry in to the raffle.
Show up to the meeting in January - Get an entry in to the raffle.
Offer the best advice (as voted on by the mods) between now and Jan. 15th. Get an entry in to the raffle.

Raffle will be held at the January meeting.

Prize = MP-40.

This would be separate from the monthly Golden Ticket. When the contest thread is started, use the “blast” function to send it via email to all registered members. Don’t exclude non-premium members.

People like free stuff, and people like to show off their tanks, and talk about the hobby, we just have to give them a reason to want to do it here instead of RC or R2R.

Just an idea.

Those are some very good ideas Craig.

This is exactly what this club needs to get more participation going.

Thanks Craig.

Craig has my vote for president!!! ::hitsthefan::

Just a suggestion, but what about social media like facebook, Lets say once a month post a link to the DRC Forums on say fishbowls Facebook page, DPA Facebook page, Dr. Macs Facebook page, etc. with their permission of course I think you get the idea Or maybe post something on craigslist with the forum link and a little ditty that everyone can agree on I would be happy to do the posting with permission if everyone agrees

::thinking::
