Giant Hitchhiker on ROV

I got an email from a friend in the gulf oil industry. he got these pics in mail from a friend. Devon energy was using an ROV to set equipment in 8500 feet of water for an oil rig. when they pulled it back up, it had this 2 1/2 foot hitchhiker on the rail. I havent found an original post yet, but did find the same pics on this divers forum.

Oh, they are real. and big too alright. Its the shelter of the deep that drives them to grow large to survive. and they do. just a remanant from prehistoric past. The Star wars Milenium Falcon had space lice, and we gots deep sea-lice. Who gotz the bug spray?
