got my AWI rodi

do i use fast flush for the first 4 gallons?
also when i ran my fiter last night it ran for 2 hours and i dont think i had any di water. normal?
since i ran it for 2 hours last night will i just run it 3 more hours today. instructions say unit may take 3-6 hours to fill.thanks. if there is anything else i should know please tell me.thanks brett

No you do not want to fast flush it. You want to rinse the membrane out so you just want to run it and dump it. If you ran it last night for 2 hours with no rodi water then you either A. Had the fast flush turned on, or B. forgot to hook up the water line to the RO unit.

i had the fast flush on.
so i just turned the unit on again and let teh water run for like 5 min. i see no rodi water. im starting to vary irritated. the fast flush isnt on. how long should it take to make on drop of water?
befor this i had the water runing for half an hour. no water still.

i ended up searching threw the tubeing and found it was not passing threw the final carbon filter which probably means it isnt even getting to the di.

i think it might be problem with the permeator pump. ill probably call tommrow if there open

permeator pump? Spelled wrong? Is this some sort of booster pump? If possible remove the pump out of line and test. Ro units do not need a pump unless water pressure is low in the house or to pump water from a holding tank

which unit did you get? some have the pressure booster pump for homes with a well and low water presure.
this is an electric water pump with wires.

and some also have a passive PERMEATE Pump which recycles 80% of the waste water and pressure back through the membrane again to reduce reject water.

I think it was invented by these guys for industrial scale RO water systems. but it needs to work against the back pressure of a pressureize reservoir tank.

they have some animated simulations on this page to show how it works.

this is what i got Aquarium Reefkeeper RODI Drinking Water Systems - Air, Water & Ice.

OK, yours has a passive PERMEATE pump. that should make far less reject water going down the drain. its a good improvement.
