Got my LEDs

Well I finally got the power supplies for my AI SOLS (a HUGE thank you to charlie and the folks at DPA) and all I can say is DAMN!!!

Granted it’s got so many timers I imagine I’ll be up until Thursday figuring out how to make the most out of them.

Wow congrats
Looking forward to some pics

jeez, craig, an old senile geezer like me figured it out in no time. just remember that lunar cycle is “no” for each setting, except the last, and that one makes the maximum moon setting. any ?? lmk

So when setting the lunar cycle to “yes” what do you set your intensity at?

I accidental re-set my controller to the factory setting and no longer have a setting for royal, how do I get it back?

Here’s the tank with the old MH fixture:

And here it is under the LEDS

I need to either find a way to mount them sideways or hope to make a killing at the swap and buy 2 more unit as the sides of the tank are awfully dark. Maybe it won’t be such an issue once I ramp up the power but for now it seems like there’s not enough spread from the lights.

Good luck with them, they look really good on your tank :BEER

I was just gonna ask till I saw your post. Why can’t you mount them horizontally?

The lights are narrower than they are long, so if i try to mount sideways the end caps are too long and wont attach to the rails.

GolfC
Very cool

Looks sweet Craig.

What intensity are you starting them at? Don’t have them at 100% power do you?

No way!!! I have them overdriven to 125% ;D

Nah theyer set at 45% right now.

45% and the pictures look almost identical minus the shadowing. I might have to check these out some day and get some specifics on measurements for when I build mine. I would like to do a similar setup to these. with an added 2/4 3up leds and addition of 420 leds in the middle row

I think you want to turn them long ways and don’t forget that without some kind of supplementing lighting you won’t get any 420 rays if your tank was use to it ?

Craig, if its in your future… what are you planning?

What is the best way to add 420 actinics? aside from somebody saying led’s, they’re not even out yet right?
VHO’s or T5’s. ? cost/ performance

mount them horizontally along 1 rail. you can keep both rails up or use only 1 rail. either way, adjust the tightener washer on the ends so the lights are level. i have 2 rails two ai’s mounted parallel to each other–each on a different rail and the 3rd ai is mounted across both rails at a 90* angle from the other 2. my lunar is set at 1%w, 4 and 4% b/rb.
the pic is of the 2 horz mounts, before i got a third module, both mounted on the front rail

about the controller, do you see the setting for royal blue, when you go into a timer? where it shows the levels? push the knob until you get to the setting for w/ then b/ then rb. if it’s still a prob, i’d call them. in idaho. great tech help and cs.

thanks, the thing about ai’s is that their controller is primitive technology, which is why it worked out in my brain.
