This is a piece of Jeff’s (Justsumguy) ORA Peach Digi… doesn’t look peach under my lights, LOL but I love it!
This is a random Green Acro (not a slimer), that I also got from Jeff:
This is one of my favorites that I got from Jeff. He called it a “Dr. Mac Neon Polyp” it kinda looks like a crazzy branching Bonsai:
Here’s a little group shot:
I LOVE my LEDs! They’ll bring out every color these corals can produce. It’s awesome. Thanks again Tim for helping with the LEDs.
And thank you Jeff, April and Matt, we had a great time hanging out!
Best regards DRC,
Josh
Does it (the peach digi) really look that purple or is it the camera? My frag looks orange. What type of led are you using that makes it look like that?
That’s exactly how it looks. It’s glows like purple embers or some junk under these LEDs.
I bought a DIY kit from RapidLED, it came with 6 leds, each was “royal blue” and each diode was 3watts. This all equals really bright. I haven’t done the PAR yet. I run 4 T5’s, 2 Actinic and 2 Blue Plus.
It’s those RapidLEDs that really rock the tank.
I was thinking of getting one of those kits too. how much was the 6 led kit?

I got the $100 retrofit kit. Make sure you get the digital ballast so you can use the command module (timer/dimmer) and don’t forget a heatsink (I used 1.1" x 24"). After all was said and done the total cost was just under $200.
That seems like a lot, but you have everything you need now for 6 more leds and can add them for only another $100.
RapidLED is also WAY cheaper than trying to buy a commercial LED. Those things are nearly $700, scratch that!
Glad you are happy with the frags. They look happy already :). Those pictures are just to blue for my taste though. I love the blue look but gotta have a hint of white. To make the id’n easier. That dr.mac neon polyp frag looks like a bonsai and not tan body with neon yellow/green polyps.

I wanted to go for a deepwater tank. Whites and reds are almost nonexistant at the depths I was hoping to create.
Also, the blue washout and over exposure is due to my iPhone. When you get a chance, please come visit us and take a look at my tank in person. I’m sure you’ll at least partially eat your words, lmao.
Thanks for checkin out my frags everyone! I actually just traded for 3 more nice frags. I’ll have those pictures up tomorrow I hope.
BTW, this months meeting was great! I’ve never been to one, but when I showed up I realized everyone there was my friends. We had some great discussions and MANY vodka references … ::… Craig!

Thanks Bill!
Here are a couple pictures of this amazing Acro I received in a trade with A. I haven’t been able to get pics of the other two frags… I really need a good camera.
This shot was done this morning under only T5 Actinics and my LEDs.
This picture was taken last night when we got home from the meeting. LEDs only.
This was also taken last night, LEDs only.
I will do my best to get some more quality shots. I really gotta get those pics of the other new frags up, so A can feel like a proud papa, lol.
Enjoy everyone, thanks again to the DRC crew!

Thanks Josh. The corals I got from you are doing good as well. Not as vivid color as it was in your tank I’m sure, but it will be when I get the big tank up and running. Looking forward to more trades.
