Gobble Gobble!

Happy Turkey day!

woo hoo! my turkeys been brinein for 2 day!! time to eat!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy start to this years holiday season.

Now pass the cranberries.

i would also be interested in getting some sooner or later…im a big fan of snails that easily repro…

I can always spare some. i only gave bugbabe about 10 or so and she said they are already breeding in her tank.

One thing to note is im not 100% on the ID of these snails. Ive done a ton of research but still havent confirmed the ID with 100% certainty. Ive only bought snails one time in my life and the only snails i bought were nassarius vibex. Anyways, a couple of things i do know for sure is that these are not predator whelks, although technically all nassarius are whelks. Also, these are definitely not the Ilyanassa obsoleta mud snails sold on ebay incorrectly as Nassarius Obsoleta. I cant say for certain how well these guys keep the sand stirred simply because i have so many. Maybe Bugbabe can tell you about the behavior she has observed. All i know is that my tank is spotless and these things breed like crazy which provide a constant food source for hermits. I cant say for sure if hermits breed in my tank, but i havent purchased any CUC in over 4 years and i have more hermits and snails than i know what to do with. The only nuisance is they tend to get everywhere in my system. The clog my injection on my skimmer about once a month :-?

i wonder if these are what i bought at DPA…anyway still interested

Maybe, i dropped a bunch off about a week ago.

Turkey day was great. but theres still half a big bird to go. even my dog Toto is turning up her nose at turkey for breakfast. But i like it!! Dont have to cook for a week!

Hey Glenn, me and my friend from around here that bought the 75 are thinking about getting some CUC soon. I’ll shoot you a pm later tonight with the information.

Check this thread, I am seeing if there is any interest in making a bulk purchase from a store on ebay:

American Marine Pinpoint PH Monitor. No probe. No battery cover.

$35

No longer need it as the new RK2 has a PH monitor built in.

Craig i’m interested. How much are probes? Does it have an output? If so what mV, V, mA? Just a screen? Only battery powered? After typing all that I’m going to look it up an answer all my own questions probably lol.

Nm I think I may just be getting a probe for my needs (custom data input/output via a PC). Good deal though.

I did a good deal of research on doing this in the past. Basically what it came down to is no one was willing to share the software they had written to make there’s work. They said I should just look on ebay, buy any random probe and then learn how to write the software to get it to work. Wasn’t worth it for me at the time. If you come up with something simple though I would be interested to see what you do.

Thats my plan. Writing the software isn’t too hard, it’s usually just simple scaling and with cal solutions I can throw in a cal algorithm easy, I do it at work all day. If I can just find the NI-DAQ card I have laying around at work I’ll be set, otherwise I’m looking for some cheap ebay I/O cards.

Craig sorry for the HJack
