Heard a rumor, pics disprove

So the other day while dropping off some corals at an LFS I heard a rumor. Jon Gordon’s tanks crashed and he lost all his corals… ??? Actually in my hand I had about 20 corals I was dropping off as one of my softy tanks was way too over crowded. News to me. >LOCO< I suppose someone misread the thread where I talked about a bacterial crash in my tank causing a bit of cyano and other unsightly growth. Anyways I thought I would share some images from my tanks the last couple of weeks.

Old Broken link removed, sorry

Several of these will be going on sale soon, so I can afford to pay rent this month.

And yes I finally got a new camera. Donation from my uncle, thank you, thank you, thank you. ;D

holy $hit those black and white cloves are badass

Lol you mean this one?

If you want to we can call them cloves. I’ve always refered to them as a xenia. ;D

ahh, gotcha look like cloves for the polyp i was looking at

Well I can vouch for Jon hes had a very little bump in the road but the frags look great seen them the other day.

Hey Jon I want some of the black and white xenia

what colors are they really?

Lol, well that was a top down photo. I had always called them “silver lined xenia”, but recently I have begun wondering if they are even in the genus xenia. May turn out to be Hetroxenia.(though I don’t believe you’re really asking me to identify them taxonomically.) In person they are fairly close to this, but under pretty high flow and super high bright light with an actinic bulb pretty close to them.(of course while taking the image I pushed the fixture back to snap a top down image)

I’ve had these for years, but they were over grown over and over again by Red Sea xenia(often referred to as Xenia Umbellata). I completely lost my “large palm xenia”, but still have the two dark xenias, silver lined, red sea, and two species of Cespitulira and Anthelia. Been meaning to write Sprung an e-mail. He told me if I sent him pictures of them he could help me ID more closely.

Nice polyp extension on all the acros. You’re doing it right, Jon.
