So Jon, you want to keep the cat out of the basement, but its litter is down there? How does that work?
There are three rooms in the basement. It’s complicated. Perhaps I’ll post pictures later.

Saw that look once. had too much to drink one night, wrapped the cats feet in scotch tape and put her in the middle of the kitchen floor. it was like watching a cat try to ice skate.
Not a proud moment for either of us.
cats go anywhere they can go, or please to go. especially when no ones home. dont worry about it. mine never even looks at the fish . let alone try to catch them. just likes to lay on the warm light hood and sleep all day. some do, some dont. just wait and see before obsessing about it.
of course one of those spray bottles full of water works good to chase them off something. one spritz in the face gets em running and improves long term memory. don’t spray the ballasts though.
