BOAT !!! ok you have my attention.
lol i have a 38 foot pacemaker aka the rockfish killer.
i have a 24 ft bayliner trohpy aka the royal flush
love the name of the boat my is named the MISS MORGON. lol we both have two holes that suck money huh.
i doubt that keeping ca high will eliminate ha if you continue to use non rodi’d water. this is an investment that pays for itself in stability.
Hi and welcome. You have come to the right place to learn. By looking at your pictures and seeing the sterilizer on your tank I think you may be misunderstanding what a RODI filter is. This is a filter that is hooked up to your tap water to filter it before you use it to make salter water for water changes and top off fresh water for evaporation.
Here is a link to Air Water & Ice one of our sponsors that sells good filters:

You will find some good information on their web site. Be sure and pick up a TDS meter so that you can measure both your tap water and the water coming out of your RODI when you get one.
I hope to see you at this months meeting next Monday! GolfC
i would like to suggest a phosban reactor as well. one of those 2 little fishies ones will work fine.
btw- it is a majano anemone in the pics. they aren’t all green. i would nuke it.
I would not put anything on it. Every tank has growing pains, and algae is a circle. Over the course of the next couple months you will probably develop every algae known to man. Eventually they will settle down as you feed less, and you tank “breaks in”. In a couple of months if you still see huge algae blooms, then you can run a phosban reactor, They are pretty cheap, but the media is pretty pricy. I did not read through the whole thread yet, but let the tank settle out and dont add or change anything for a little bit. But get an RO/DI system for sure, that will help control the algae by giving you pure water.
