How Many Tanks and What Size?

Just curious to know who’s got what? Let’s hear what kind of tanks you all are running. Anyone have any special themed tanks? Picos? Nanos? Gigantos?

I’ll start off by telling you what I have:

Three salt and one fresh

135 gallon (60x22x24) with a euro-brace

  • 40 gallon sump
  • underrated skimmer (eshopps 110)
  • cheato and live rock in the sump
  • mixed reef, SPS heavy
  • growing under T5 and an hour or two of supplemental LED lighting
  • 3 medium sized wavemakers
  • moderately stocked with fish

65 gallon standard non-drilled mixed reef tank, the original intention was to have nothing in this tank directly from the ocean. But have broken a few rules since the beginning

  • 100% home made rock (crushed coral and Portland cement)
  • mixed Reef (everything from sps, to lps, leathers, candy canes, acros, montis, Xenia, mushrooms and zoanthids)
  • every coral in this tank is at least 2-3 generations removed from the ocean
  • 20 gallon sump
  • underrated skimmer
  • hang on the back overflow
  • growing under 2 EcoTech rx30 LEDs

30 gallon shallow frag tank that is basically temporary until I find time to set it up right

  • two cheap power heads
  • hang on back aqua clear filter
  • no sump
  • no skimmer
  • growing under a 16” black box LED

And a 37 gallon planted freshwater tank
Housing an angle fish and his arch enemy the opaline gourami

I have just one tank at the moment.

50 gallon rimless cube

  • MP40
  • Vectra M1 Return
  • XR15 + 4 T5 Hybrid Lighting
  • It has a skimmer, but it is off

This tank is a typical mixed reef. Some SPS, some LPS and a few softies.

Just a 75 gal somewhat mixed reef as I lost some acros due to a nitrate spike due to a cleaner shrimp death. Have 2 maxspect gyres and petco wavewake. 2 165 watt black boxes and the new sump with a reef octopus 110 skimmer. Just recently added a nice indo gold torch

Jessica, The tank looks amazing! So clean

Ellen, Last time I saw your tank was before the hybrid lights

I’ll bet it’s looking good now

Thanks for the compliment!

My 180 gal reef tank has been up and running now for 15 yrs. Mixed reef. I have an external refugium, oversized MRC protein skimmer, 20 gal freshwater top off tank, 3 cheap LED lights supplemented with 2 6ft vho’s, and a calcium reactor, all controlled by a Apex controller
