Some time ago I bought 2 used korillas from a club member. Two weeks ago after feeding the tank and turning the pumps back on, I noticed that the korillas were turning backwards. So I sent an email to the Hydor company and after a few emails back and forth, they sent me 2 new covers…NO CHARGE!!!

Turn the plug 180 will fix it if you ever have the problem again
I have the same problem, it happens intermittently so I’m not sure flipping the plug will work. I just received a new piece from them yesterday that was supposed to fix it, its the plastic piece that the impellor sits in.
It didn’t work. But ill try the plug trick tonight when I get home just to see.
Flipping the plug 180 works for me evertime.

Hi John
If these are Koralia Evolutions, then there are three possible causes of the reversal.
You may have the old style of bushing that has slipped out of place. This is only applicable to units purchased before April 2010.
This problem is remedied by the installation of the new style of bushing.
The another possibility is that the front cover is damaged. Make sure the black rubber bumper located on the inside of the front cover is undamaged and in place. Also make sure that the plastic around the bumper is not cracked.
The third possibility is that the magnetic shaft is cracked or swollen. A broken impeller magnet would also result in vibration and noise from the unit.
We can send you replacement parts.
My covers were missing the rubber bumper.

sweet i need to give them a call too I have one mag 7 and 3 evos 1400gph i noticed the one evo is chattering a lot it wouldnt run full speed i adj the shaft and now it clicks on startup like it did when i got it. the other evo is noisy when running but it starts quiet. the mag 7 magnet swelled and seized. I hope i have a good experience like you. I heard they have great cust service. The pumps are probably the best on the market in terms of movement (gph) versus power consumption. I have 5 now and would buy more.
