Cool, I bet it’s still a mean little sucker.
stunning fish.
Very pretty, but have to agree with Joe. It is probably VERY territorial. If it’s anything like most of it’s relatives. That being said lots of time special coloring = special minds too.(as in less intelligent which in the animal kingdom often = less aggressive)
Still cool looking. Thanks for sharing.
No-one will ever have that fish. I doubt it will breed with that same color…
Its a VERY expensive fish!!! It’s already been offered for sale.If I remember was over $1000.00.
And come on of corse it’s territorial, it’s a clown and a maroon clown at that.
If you read, there were offers up into the 3-5k range. They sold it off to a well known breeder who is trying to breed it with a maroon female from the same region…
Well did read it and was already out there for sale $2500.00 was the cost. They had 2 in stock at thie time. One sold and the other came up couple days later. Have not been back since.

Actually the chances are with a some selective breeding and some inbreeding that genetic variation can be achived regulary in 2-3 generations of fish, the same as Onyx, picasso, naked, and snowflake. I’m glad a breeder got ahold of it, and a good one at that.
O wow, nevermind, cool bred, but they were saying it might be due to the enviromental pressures thats why he has that coloring, and that it may not be gene related… I think thats what they said… But crazy cool fish…
Could be environmental pressure that caused a genetic mutation which caused the color change. Could possibly breed true if that is the case. I didn’t read the article yet.
