These just kinda popped up out of nowhere and they definitely aren’t aptasia. I figure they don’t look bad but i don’t know what they are… I think ball anenomes or something like that.
do they close up when u turn the lights on? i had something liek that it just kinda disappeared lol
hey ry. are they possibly small feather dusters. any behavior like quickly shutting, or do they just sit there?
btw, after all this time your rbta moved off its rock to a spot about 2 inches away. no splitting, but it’s just still beautiful, as is the braerium. thanks again.

Any chance you started feeding more then you typically do? Or added a new food? Or allowed more algae to grow then normal? These animals have no zooxanthellae so they only show up when there is enough food. I had them seemingly appear out of no where in one of my tanks after I hadn’t added any animals in over a year.
Uh yea just set-up my 28gal bow with LR from a friend who’s tank pretty much died. All i have in there is Hermits, turbos, brittle star, banded shrimp, and a misbar Osc. Feeding too much doesn’t seem to be the case since i only feed twice daily small pinch. They popped up almost immediately once lights we’re put on the tank. These def are a type of small anenome. I just poked one and it shriveled but didn’t close up… I’ll take pic.
My fault. When you said:

I didn’t realize they showed up on rock you just got and weren’t familiar with.
So anybody got a profile ID on these guys they are taking over this rock and don’t seem to bother anything.
What do you mean by a profile ID? How long have you had the rock? Do you actually see them multiplying or just more are coming out of the rock.
You don’t think they are these?:

You could try posting on Marinedepot.com s invert forum with Ron Shimek and see what they have to say.
