what the heck is this thing? the base looks like rock, but it pulsates! the two orange “horns” retract when its disturbed. i can only see it at night cuz durring the day its over run by yumas. im thinkin maybe a sea apple, but it lacks the polyps of a sea apple, idk? ???
sorry they were the best shots i could get
Looks cool but I have no idea what it is.
I’d guess some sort of sponge
had someone check em out, and they said that they are “tunicates”. anyone second that?
Yep, matchu has got it. Tunicates aka Sea Squirts. 99% of the time will starve in our tanks. If you would like to keep it alive I would recommend adding some Phytoplankton, but keeping in mind phytoplankton will add nutrients to the system.(might require you to do more water changes or step up filtration)
Often times one of our sponsors sells them, but it currently looks like they are out of stock. http://www.pacificeastaquaculture.com/ So you got one of the hitchhiking animals that isn’t a pest and some people actually pay for.
cool deal…thanks guys!
