What is the best heater on the market for larger tanks(180) in your opinion ?

And what are you using to heat your tank?

I like the Eheim Jager heaters, but they only go up to 300W, and were too long for my sump. So, I’ve been using the Hydor THEO 400W with a Pinpoint controller.

I am looking at maybe getting 2 Eheim Jager 300w heater, still doing some research and will check out Fish bowl and DPA stores on my way up to the meeting tomorrow.

John I run 2 of the 300 ehei myself. Work great for me. Got them at the fish bowl.

After doing some reading up on heaters and seeing plenty of positive reviews on Ehiem Jager and your experience with these heaters,I am going to take your advice and invest in them

they are great heaters and I use the 250 model but be warned they are very long compared to other models

I am using a process technologies 1000w titanium heater.

I have a Finex 800 watt titanium, only down side is you need a controller of some type. My apex controls it and have not had any issues at all with it.

I use the Finnex as well. Haven’t had an issue with the heater, the controller yes, but the heater has been flawless for 2 years now.

Right now I am running 2 heaters, 350 ViaAqua Titanium and Finnex 400, both with the digital readout and dial controller separate from the heating tube and both are very old. The Finnex started making a beeping sound and flashing numbers and no heat, needless to say, it is in the garbage now.
I will be stopping at the Fish Bowl to get the Eheim Jager to try out.

John - I had that problem with my 1st Finnex controller too. The heater was still good but the controller took a dump.
