not even sure if some of you will find this maroon pretty, but this fish has crazy markings…

ohh yea thats the lightning maroon. hes been around for a few months now. hopefully, if they can get them to breed(the 2 they caught) the will keep theyre patterns

glad to see im not the only one who has seen this fish…i found this guy because he breeds harlequin filefish…im trying to pair up either royal grammas…or some kind of dottyback…i really want a mated pair of dottys for my new tank…information is soo limited though

I think it has a really cool lace pattern. the big question is, is it genetically tranferable to off spring? time will tell, soon as he finds a similar mate. it might only be a one off aberation.

But deffinitely good looking.

Ornate!

Yeah they surfaced a few months ago, Blue Zoo had 2 of them for sale for $2400 each and were both sold to the same person for breeding.

wow, talk about an investment!!!..any idea/theory as to what would cause that pattern? cross breeding maybe?

also…u think blue zoo has some of these on stash in their vault?

so he is attempting to mate the lightning…updated vid…

cool video, hopefully the progeny will develop the same phenotype characteristics.

Heheh^^^ He means he hopes the babies are cool.

I have GOT to get me some of those.

Things must be going well at ECA if you are even considering it, lol. We can all dream right?

Hopefully there is a future for this variant in the hobby.

thanks Jon, i just seriously read every word on those sites…like they stated, ive never been this excited over one fish, and i dont even own the darn thing…

Matt Pedersen’s youtube channel is one of the few i still watch pertaining to fish. After watching his vids and documentation all other channels on there seem crappy…his breeding of the file fish and pygmy angels is amazing…

Hey guys… just got back from MACNA down here in FL. They had a real good talk about where these guys came from, Papua New Gineau (PNG). They were saying that there will be some real nice endemic species coming out of PNG, such as the gold nugget wrasse.

Ask for PNG fish if you are buying wild caught. They are somewhat more expensive, but are much healthier as numerous numbers are turned away. They are trying to make a name for themselves, and are insisting on good quality fish. A win-win situation for hobbiests.

Wrasse is pretty cool icy

kinda looks like it’s half dragonette.
