I’m not sure if this is stupid or not but when I’m changing out gfo or carbon does it matter if i Rinse it with tap water or ro? I’m not sure if it matters but figured I would ask anyway.

I’m not sure if its right or wrong, but i always rinse mine with tap.

I usually rinse mine with tap and then run the reactor output water in a bucket for  a couple minutes till it runs clear and to make sure nothing bad goes in the tank

I do the same thing sometimes if I have to much rodi water I don’t mind wasting I will swish it a little.

i clean in tap, then a final rinse in rodi water.
