My dream job!! Wish I can go!! LOL

I met Walt Smith about ten years ago at a MACNA. It was a Friday night and me and my wife were hanging out at the bar talking to fellow hobbyists. Walt walked on the room and told the waitress that he wanted the bar open for the rest of the night for the entire crowd of people and he picked up the tab. There was about 75 people in the place. What a freaking coral pimp!

I asked him what, if any, challenges he faces with the local regulatory authorities trying to shut down his operation. He said that he struggles with this a lot but at the same time, employees over 200 of the local people full time and that seems to keep the authorities at bay. He showed me pictures of his operation. It looks more like a village of natives. Entire family’s working for Walt kicking around a soccer ball. Woman holding babies in their arms. Just amazing what he’s done with his life.

The peace corps has a lot of options similar to what Walt is offering. I had a friend live in Fiji for 2 years volunteering.

yeah, the reality is these places are pretty remote and primative. not much to do but watch the sun set and wait for dawn. no lights, no power, no phone. How long could you go without turning on your smart phone? or PC? or TV? The simple life. no running water, or fridge, or thunder mug!
