notice how large a gate valve is vs. a standard valve
I would carefully rmove the bad algae asap. and not leave any stray sprigs floating around.
As of this week I have started to remove it from the sump. It has slowed its growth and even showed digns of some dieback. If has probably exuasted the food that was fueling the explosive growth.
This is the first of a few mods for this ASM G4X+
Hey Al is the gate mod something you can pick up from Lowes or homedepot?.. I have the G4X still with no mods.
No they don’t stock it I got it from savko online
Have you guys seen the angel at greenbank? Gi-normous! Anyone have an empty 300g tank laying around?
Whats the address of this place? Ive heard it mentioned but never been able to find it.
No idea on the addy, it’s behind Pepboys on rt 2. Little place, if you blink… Huge fish, I felt bad for it but what am I gonna do with that? It looked like it could eat my big yellow tang in a mouthful. {:-}
Oh the agony! Ted and I put all this work into this site and no one uses it, tisk tisk…
Check here Local Stores It is also found on the top of this page.
Ahh thanks Al, I hadnt even noticed that section yet. Time for a road trip.
Not too bad of a store. I think it has potential. Icy I would wait on a trip until at least this Sunday. The reef section is very lightly stocked currently, but Bill(current owner) has been talking about a ton of shipments from all around the world coming in this Sunday. We shall see…
Not sure what is up with the large angel, he has a French in as well which will get even bigger then the large blue one he has. I’ll ask him about it today. It’s possible it was a special order for someone that never picked it up. At premium aquatics several times in the past we have ordered special items in for people we wouldn’t normally carry and they never come in to pick them up. One of those people has posted on this forum in the last week.
Jon
eh, I don’t think it’s worth the trip personally…last time I was there it wasn’t great
So Jon he is getting stuff in on sunday then?
I went the other week, and it wasn’t great. But the main thing is, Bill usually sells a lot of his stuff the same day it comes in. At least that is what he told me. And at one point I witnessed it, I came in when they were unpacking and he had tons of reef fish you don’t usually see stocked there. I had gotten an algae blenny, still in its shipping bag since the order just came.
But I’ve never really seen his coral section stocked all that great though? So I don’t know if Im missing the shipments and they just all get picked over before I get there.
Oh dangit, I just realized I move in sunday. On campus without a car, can’t go fishy shopping anymore haha.
With most good LFS shipment days are huge and things get picked through right away. Being there when the shipment comes in will allow you to get the best stuff before it’s picked through. I’m told a lot of fish on Sunday and some corals from many locations.
Rbta, I would offer a ride and in the future I can give you one, but the first week you move in you want to hang out around the campus and meet some new people. Perhaps you’ll meet some cute girl that is into reef tanks, lol!

Ummmm … Ted and I? It really would have been easier had it just been Ted …
That was one of the first area’s we put up … lol
But don’t forget who was the first to ruin that page!

PBJ!
I used to go there all the time (Closest LFS known to me at the time), he has some pretty cool freshwater stuff too. I got my guppies from there and I got a small flounder (the ones that stay 3 inches I was kinda stupid though, he wasn’t a good fit for the tank verdict_in hence why I now research before buying fishies now). rbta, if you ever need to go to a fish store for something and are in a bind you can come find me and I will most likely take you (always looking for an excuse to go to the fish store :P)
When I liver up that way I use to go there and Tulls in Newport. While I was planning my 75 I stopped in Greenbank about once a week. For Saltwater fish he does get some awesome livestock but it goes fast.
