LED conversion

Well over the weekend I went and bought an LED setup for my display tank. installed the hanging ligts today, and WOW, do I really like the look. Will post some pics some time maybe tomorrow.

We had to go out early tonight and just got back home. The lights are the setup that shawn had on his 265gal tank. He was getting excellent growth on his SPS and his tank was 30 in. deep, whereas mine is only 24 in deep. I also have left my 2 VHO bulbs under the canopy.
truthfully I am worried about if there is enough light to keep the clams happy and healthy. Tonight they are fully open, just as they were with the MH. I will keep checking the transformation of the overall changes in the tank, if any.
And will try and get some pics up tomorrow.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention my tank temp is doing fine, the fans haven’t come on yet.
Can’t wait till tomorrow and watch the electric meter going slower. YahoO

john go slow. those leds are powerful. if i were you i would borrow the club par meter.the tank might look dark in spots but the par reading should be better than halides. now lets see some pictures!

Thanks Bret, I have them turn up about half way on the whites and the blues. And yes I need to get on the list to borrow the club’s par meter.

This will be the first full day under the new LED lighting system. I had to do some routine maintenance on the tank this morning, so I will post some pics later on today.
