Ask to see downbeach (Jim). He has something similar to what your getting and has them mounted in his canopy
These are the only pictures I could find from that build. The HD on my old computer crashed, and these were all I could save. I bought these particular fixtures (eShines)because they were clean on top, i.e. no cords, plugs, switches, pots, etc., although they did have hanger studs. I removed the hanger studs, and replaced them with 1/4 - 20 pan head machine screws/nuts, and used fender washers to spread out the weight. I also added some foam weather striping between the fixture fans, and the inside of the canopy top to prevent the fans from drawing air directly from inside the aquarium. I then added some window air conditioner filter material to the top of the fixture to keep dust/dirt from entering the unit, and finished it off with some black egg crate.
That’s some clean work right there - good job.
I’ve seen people use 80/20 before. It’s nice because the fixtures can slide around to where you want them or can be moved for maintenance.
