With no moonlight LED lights on the ATI fixtures it leaves the tank in complete darkness. Also, the corals seem to pop a lot with LED’s added on. Does anyone know of a cheap LED stick that i could add on so that i get the pop of the LED? I know they have those powerbrite sticks, and might pick up two of those, but i was wondering if there are anything cheaper that are not designated for the hobby.

check em out. ive got one with white and blue leds. pretty nice little unit, and perfect for moon lights
Sweet, def thinking about picking one of those up…
Two different looks you can get with moon lights. One like the one, linked to from Kdino or those made by ice cap, will give the whole tank an actinic type look. The other would be spot light moon lights like Current’s linkable moon lights.(That particular one is red, but the images were missing from the others on that site)
If I had the $ to set up a display today I would have both types set to different times. The whole tank LED I’d leave on for a couple hours before and after my main lighting. The other little spot lights I would place directly above certain corals and have them on for another 2 hours before and after the LED strips. This wouldn’t bother the animals too much and would give the tank a very cool look at different times of the day. Without moonlights you’re either growing algae a lot or only enjoying your tank for less than half the day.
sounds like a good idea… Only problem im thinking now is where am i going to attach them? Same goes for the full tank LED…
Well you have kind of a cool modern look with the light fixture hung over the tank the way it is. The clip on spot lights… would look pretty tacky just about however you did them. There may be a way to do a full tank from the back of the front of your fixture. From the front would probably show off the tank the best, from the back would help keep the clean look from your tank. IceCap models are very slim and stylish looking, just… not cheap.
Back of the front of your fixture… hmm is that english… lol… hmm… maybe taking out one of the bulbs and getting that i believ its Icecap, t-5 bulb filled with led
Never heard of a bulb filled with T5s. Try looking at icecaps website.
nvm its just in a t-5 like bulb, dosent actually go in fixture… wish i could find a way to mount one of those icecap led…
Might be able to on the outside of the fixture just on the front or back. Might have to drill some small holes in the fixture. Hard to say with out seeing it.
