dimmable?
ok so i didnt watch the video before cause i was at work but wow that looks awesome. but still too rich for my blood
They have 100 watt LED’s only a matter of time before there aquarium ready.
Thats pretty pricey for a working pendent.
isnt it still just a cluster of LEDs? not a single one.
Heres a complete flood fixture. It’s a cool white LED 6500-7000k but they have cold white 50 watt LED’s which are 10,000k just need to swap the chip and add the internal reflector. Sold as complete units just add a plug and plug into the wall. Running voltage is 85 - 220 input voltage.

No 50w LED chip. Has series of LED’s soldiered on a board.
100w led chip
100w led flood
yup, they have 50 1 watt leds on the chip. and a very wide focus of 140 degrees, which means more light on the sides of the tank than straight down.
this one seems to be the strongest single LED i have found. 10w 900 lumen , 6300K.
remember, a standard 32w NO T8 phillips alto daylight deluxe shop light bulb produces about 2900 lumen of 6500K daylight. thats about 90 lumen per watt. T5s, even better.
Yep they do have a wide pattern but there are focal reflectors you can get for them to concentrate the beam.
But by then, you are probably into it a good $300 per pendant. None of these fixtures would really work for a reef, there are definitely better solutions out there. I am still going to stick with the multiple cree 3w LEDs for my build since they are proven to work, affordable, and very customizable. Definitely like the thinking outside the box approach, I am looking to try some different LEDs for my FO.
I agree there not designed for it but they may work.
I like the idea of the DIY for the LED’s
