rbu1 do you have a list of the fish you have in their? Are their certain inverts you know you can’t get away with or are most of your fish fairly invert safe? I know you watch pH ever monitor ORP?
RBU1, it looks like yours is a softies dominated one.
Fish dominated is what his tank is. His tank is set up and revolved around the fish. The corals are pretty ornaments for his fish to swim through.
LOL…Yes I am a fish person dont really care for the corals but don’t like a plain tank with just rock. My stock list so far…
Pair of Crosshatch Triggers
Towsend Angel
Multi colored Pygmy
Yellow Coris Wrasse
Black and white clown pair
Picked up a Blueline today he is in QT (Pic attached)…
I used to monitor ORP and also used an ozone unit. My ORP was staying around 400 so I felt I did not need the ozone and removed and sold the monitor and generator.
Congrats on the new blueline. Looks really nice.
Thanks Paul but even though I removed alot of rock I'm still not happy with the size of the tank and I'm seriously think of getting the big tank built. We'll see but I really want that 3 foot depth and that 7 foot length.
at that size, bill, how many gallons is it?
Almost 400 if I go 30 inches tall but may stick to 24 not sure yet.
tongs!! grabbers!! maybe even waders!
uhh, yeah, when a tank goes more than 24 deep(bottom to top) you need snorkle and goggles to reach stuff . or a couple sessions on the rack to stretch your arms. But i think bills thinking 3 feet front to back. 7 x 3 x 2 would be about 314 gallons. the 3 foot depth, front to back leaves nice room for decent rock work and still have a beach out front and behind the rock too for flow. 30" deep might not be too deep, if you have a few inches of sand. consider the angle of view from the front water line to the back sandbed level.

Nice mature tank reefman66, how long have you had the sailfin and how big is he? Could be the camera angle, but he looks huge.
He’s been in that tank for about 6 years now. He’s 6"x6" about the size of my palm. I had him since he was 3" long.
Too warm outside today, so I went indoors and took some pics.
Ahuh, where did you steal those pics from? lol
Well, I can’t say.LOL Glad to hear your tank is doing much better.
Very nice looking tank houndsbayman. What size is the tank? your sailfin looks about the same size a s mine.
abcd it is a 180 gal, bought that from Dr. Macs a few months ago.
impressive pictures <
Looking good.
Here are some pic’s of our 37g from today, finally got some time to take a few pic’s
Here’s ours, 5 1/2 month old 125…forgive the brown crap on the sand, we’re dealing with it, the new r.o. is cutting it back finally.
Looking good saltcreep. Is that GSP on the far left of the bottom image? Plans for a way to keep it in check? Did you get all your clowns at DPA? Know where they all came from? What is the green thing to the right of the xenia in the bottom image?
Yeah, thats GSP, its closed in the picture because the tank just got a routine turkey- baster-ing. i placed it on the end of the rock pile, so i can just pull out one rock when it gets outta control. The clowns all came from jcling (craiglist back in march) and the green thing, trumpet coral maybe?
Ah yes. Trumpet aka candy cane aka Caulastrea. Nice healthy specimen.
