local fish stores

I am new to this site my name is Barry from SJ (sorry) I have a 90 gal reef ready tank that has been running for about 3 months now have a pair of tank raised clowns 2 paj cardinals 2 bangai cadnila a foxface and a clean up crew anyway my question is of all the local stores on the site which ones do you recommend lagest selection cleanliness price etc

Hello Barry and :Welcome) to DRC. I’m guessing SJ is South Jersey? if it is well, accross the bridge from you on the west side of Philly is one of our sponsor, ASR (Aquarium Specialties & Research) and here is their addy:

Lincoln Court Shopping Center
235 Lancaster Ave.
Frazer Pa 19355
Phone: 610-644-4492
Fax: 610-644- 7511

If you go south to Newark, DE there’s DPA (Delaware’s Premium Aquatics)

379 E. Chestnut Hill Rd
Newark, DE 19713

At one time, Barry, there was a long list of stores on the link above (Local Stores). It’s been pared down and edited, but I had a blast visiting all the stores that were once on there.

I’ve been out of the area for a few years, so I can’t vouch for how things are now. If you’re looking for coral, I highly recommend visiting Mike @ ASR. He used to be @ Fraser Zoo (now defunct), and ALWAYS had great stuff. I’m sure he still does.

If you’re set on just-Jersey, there are two places on the site list. Skip the closest and go to Ocean Gallery in North Plainfield. It’s (well, at least it used to be) worth the trip.

Hey Barry, no need to apologize for being from SJ, it’s a great place, I’ve lived there most of my life. The only brick and mortar type store in SJ is in Blackwood…The Aquarium Center. And never forget, “We are!..South Jersey”

I go to the store in Blackwood and I have gone to the hidden reef and premium aquatics in DE just trying to get some info on all the stores to see if the trip is worth making to other stores

plug in a location or zip code. it has some, but not all. might find a new one.

There’s a few people missed in DE:

Aquarium Concepts off Kirkwood Hwy in Wilmington. They have mostly exotics and oddballs, but clean tanks.

Greenbank Aquarium is right up Kirkwood Hwy from Aquarium Concepts. They have a bigger selection and some exotics and oddballs as well. Dirty tanks than Aquarium Concepts though.

Then there is Just Fish in Bear, DE with horrible selection and prices. They kind of place that charges $120 for a kenya tree. They’re on the sell a frag, pay for the shipment policy. They have a good sized dry goods selection at normal prices though.
