I haven’t parted anything out yet, there’s been a lot of interest in the wildlife, so I’ll have to deal with pricing them individually if I can’t sell the package.

I’ve had a couple questions about the CO2 reactor included with the skimmer, so I thought it would be easier to use a picture, and save about 900 words. ;D

The main unit is a standard RO cylinder with a couple pieces of 1/2" tubing used for connectors. Insert is a standard 10" cartridge. Tube is standard 1/2" vinyl tubing. The elbow and coupling are standard 1/2" slip fit connectors, using the 1/2" tubing as connectors. The red piece is the top of my skimmer air intake muffler. Obviously the soda lime is placed in the 10" cartridge. Everything is dry fit.

Jim I’ve never seent this setup before,how does it work?is it just sucking air throught the soda ash? And that pulls co2from the air?

Yes, the air is drawn into the skimmer through the Soda Lime in the reactor, removing the CO2. Typically I don’t use it in the Spring and Fall when I can open some windows’ in the house, and redeploy it when I have to turn on the AC or heat.

Yes, but if you don’t have easy access to an outside source of air, like me, then the C02 scrubber is another solution. I also use a Kalk drip which is a good balanced supplement for Ca and Alk, but has the secondary affect of utilizing some of the CO2 in my system, which helps keep the pH under control.
