Looking for 120-200+ Gallons Tank

Hi all,

I will be back the first week of October and I want to upgrade. If you have or know of anyone who have a nice setup they want to let go so they can upgrade, please let me know. I don’t want to spend more than $2000.00 and it must be within an hour drive from Dover.

Thanks

I too am in the market for 180+ sized tank (only tank, nothing else). I have been looking for quite some time now. If you are looking for a full setup, I have seen quite a few on ebay. There’s a couple 180-220g with EVERYTHING for under 2k. Fish, live rock, corals, lights, skimmer, RO/DI. You could easily get a steal by taking someone’s whole setup, definitely worth the money. I’d love to do that, but just don’t have the funds. Good luck in your search.

Shouldn’t be hard right now. Still isn’t into the season for the hobby yet and the economy sure isn’t helping. Check ebay, craig’s list, newspapers, RC forums… Most of the people getting out unfortunately never find the clubs and are just surrounding with LFS advice or crappy newby forums. I personally don’t know of anyone though.

Good luck,
Jon

Thanks guys. The only problem is that most of what I see is too far for pickup and they will not deliver. I would love to get my hands on a complete setup since I don’t know how to put one together. If you guys see a good deal out there please send the link my way. I am not in a hurry, I want something that I will be happy with for at least a year or two. Ok, maybe six months.

does he have all those big tangs in little 10 or 20 gallon tanks

I’m not sure the exact size of the tanks because they were custom made acrylics. My guess is they are larger then 20, which is large enough to hold them for a little while as long as he doesn’t sit on them for long. He claimed he had many clients with large tanks that would flock in to pick them up.

Premium Aquatics has been pretty slow the last couple of weeks, but we did get a request for a LARGE NASO TANG. Bill isn’t completely unjustified in ordering those animals. There are more people out there with large aquariums then you would think. Perhaps we would know about more of them if more of them new about us.

The prime season for reefkeeping is right around the corner, this club needs to make a big push for new members. We are hear according to our mission statement to help the hobby, not debate on the ethics of what LFS do. Not saying we can’t talk about it, let’s just focus some effort on some positive stuff.

+1 Jon. I saw little computer printout flyers for the Dimond State Aquarium club in PA the other day and thought to myself why dont we do that. I know we wanted to make buisness cards but its better than nothing for the short term. I would love it if we got some more people on the forum who had big tanks… I really want to visit some LARGE reef tanks but there arent that many around that I know of.

I’ll be sure to let you know if I see anything.

I begged for cards and print outs to hand out at the store. I was told not to print any of my own because we wanted to print up something professional. I so many times have handwritten the URL for this website and it is probably not legible or lost by the time people get home. Diamond State doesn’t put in a heck of effort, but the sure are a heck of a lot further along then we are.

I can’t talk though, it’s my responsiblity to write to some sponsers to get some raffle items. verdict_in I really got to get on that.

Get ownage to design a flyer for the club and print them out and hand a stack to every member. Then all the members can put the flyers anywhere that they think people will see it. Paper and copies are cheap and flyers are a good way to advertise! Ill hand some out if someone makes them up and I’ll put some up in my studio. Get on them sponsors jon! If there’s anything I can do to help just ask and I will help.

Sure I could do that…would not be a problem…

That would be great. We also could use a higher resolution version of the logo if you have the time

I have been waiting to do some flyers, cards, etc… but I have also been waiting on this higher resolution image file of our logo, but no one has ever given that to me…

Perhaps someone can explain to ownage how to do that since since it is obviously not his forte.

Totally just joking with ya.

Totally just joking with ya.

Sometimes you will have to drive a little bit in order to get the deal. I have done it many times and it is always well worth it.

Thanks for the link, but I am looking for the whole set-up (Tank, Stand, Hood, Sump, Lights (MH)…)

http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/for/824698053.html - 150g with everything but lighting included.

400$ each. I would go with the 150 and just buy new lighting for it. It will still be under what you wanted to pay for price range.

On the DRC forum on RC there is a 265 gallon tank for sale. The price he is asking is a bit steep for a used tank but it may be worth making an offer. Most people get $1 a gallon for used tanks. However it is listed as an Oceanic Tank and it is reef ready which make it worth a little more.
