a return pump. a big boy lol. does anyone have a pump that they are trying to sell? i currently have a koi pond pump and i dont know why but it doesnt really flow. the tank is 90g and the sump/fuge is 30g. there is only like 18 or less inches of head from the pump the the bulkhead. any suggestions? i tried to put a ball valve on there and increase pressure but it did nothing at all. just stumped here not sure if i should get a new pump or do i have it plumbed wrong
Its probably not made for any head pressure. Most pond pumps move water in the pond and have Zero head pressure. Did it work before? I thought I remember you saying it worked well before. If so I think the problem is the pump since it was not made for saltwater is corroded.
If you can pull it out temporarily and pull the pump apart, check the impeller area for damaged or corroded parts. Do you wish to replace with a submersible or will either work?

try cleaning the impeller .
if your ump has a nozzle> cone shaped orfce in front of proppeller it is obstructed.
