i had a heater shatter in my sump and didnt know it and it was basicly metal coils plugged into the wall in salt water and i had current go between my thumb and index finger pretty strong, good thing i didnt arc it hand to hand through my chest.
WOW… thats scary… my worst thing i guess was when my filter got unleveled and started spilling water everywhere … it was pumping it out of the tank. lost 5 gal of water… and now im getting new hardwood flooring…
forgetting about the syphon on my outdoor koi tub to drain some water, and finding them flopping around the bottom of an empty tub.
accidentally knocking the drain and return line out of the bulkheads while it’s running and i’m sitting under the tank with a Mag18 as a pump …
Well everyone knows I have “water issues”…

Making a small adjustment to the skimmer level in the sump under the tank (Mind you I had a drain line hooked up that drained skimmate in to a 1.5 gallon jug.) and heading out for the day, only to come home and realize I didn’t wait long enough to see where the level ended. “Skim Drained” about 5 gallons of water directly on to my floor.

Forgetting to turn the RODI off (before owning a float switch and an ASOV) before going to bed. Getting home from work to find 75g of water on the basement floor (I have a finished basement). The wife having previously told me if I did it again she was going to call a friend (Al) from the club to come and breakdown my tank and keep everything while I was at work. So in order to not get in trouble again I told her the hot water heater must be leaking. $900 later brand new hot water heater and I still have my tank.
lol i love that story… i would have just called a friend to pretend to fix heater first lol… I have a story…
The other day i had seaweed in my tank for a fish, 3 days later i went to pull it out as i had forgotten about it, picked up the rock. Instantly the tank was full of brown decaying seaweed… ewww… luckily i had enough water to do a 50% water change… and i had to change filter pads…
I saw a video on youtube, a guy was lifting weights, and put the bench press bar right through the tank…

in 1979, i had an 80 hex for inverts only. i had a 6 inch triton trumpet [before any of the sensible rules about collecting were in effect] that ate those blue stars. i had her for about a month and ran across a 3 inch t t. i put it in the tank, and within an hour a white tube extended toward the female about ten minutes later, they were connected by this foot-long, ahem, penile tube [dick, to some of you]. they stayed like that for 24 hours then separated.
unfortunately it was my divorce summer and i left the house, and all was dead by the time i got back into it 2 months later. there was the worse smell imaginable. but she walked out and left me to clean the tank.
O dat sucks… lol … the divorce rate is very high these days. kindof makes you afraid to settle down
