Motorcycle riders of DRC

I made this post for some of our riders since I see a couple that ride and to help keep our main topics on topic I created this… I so smart >LOL< So post you’re bike/s and story.

I currently own a 00 Suzuki GSXR 750. This is purely a beater bike and nothing more.
My first bike was a Suzuki Katana 750 with a sprocket almost as big as the back wheel.
Then got my gsxr 750 after having a clutch push rod break I was told it was over $2000 job and I had to take the motor apart to get the piece out so I decided to buy a dealer over stock 06 Yamaha R1 that was already chromed out and then some mods added by me. The R1 has been by far my favorite handling and designed bike.
Unfortunately A woman that was in the U.S. on a BLUE CARD(not the green card) hit my bike in a empty parking lot pulling out totaled the bike. $6,000 in damage because of the chromed parts.

Then I decided to fix my POS gsxr and turns out that big project was 15 minutes from start to finish for me.
Also had a 01 R1 recently I just bought to sell.

I have not been riding much past couple of years due to work and child. Kind of waiting to buy another 04-08 R1. With the sw tank that kind of eats the money I would have used verdict_in.

Well I ride, an 07 Honda Cbr600rr, I just this year got into riding on the track. Here are a few pictures from my first track day. I agree with the fact that motorcycles and salt water are 2 expensive hobbies!

Ohh and for referance, these shots were in turn 1, which speeds are normally between 100-130 mph thru there lOl

I now have A Suzuki Sv 650s its a rocket with a V-twin rather then the straight 4 Has a Rs-3 Yoshi Carbon fiber Pipe. Its a neat bike It can be fully faired for super sport look or you can take the plastic fairing off and Its a street fighter.Hey (Sum Fish Guy) I used to also have a Katana 750 there nice cruser bikes why such a big sprocket for wheelies? Must have killed you MPG and your speed. But you could probably just ride around on the back tire most of the time lol… I heard of the track up there in Jersey if I had the money I would love to get into racing I can drag my knee thats how I layed it down last summer hit some of that sandy gravel but it went down so smooth just had a little rash on bike So i would love to hit some nice twisties on a clean open track. But untill I get my truck on the road I could only ride my bike up and if i go down for some reason I will have to walk back ::thinking:: But I definietly want to check it out. Hey CBR600rr do you race? if so whats the purse look like on races like? We should get together and go for a cruse some time.

Katana was a decent cruiser bike it was comfy as hell but got a lot of attention since it was bright lamborgini orange. The Katana used to shake a lot once you hit triple digits, was scary as hell when racing the newer bikes. that was 10-11 years ago. I just want another R1 and get the motor worked a bit. Never lost a race except 1 time on the Katana to a fully worked 87 gsxr 750.

The sprocket was mainly for acceleration but also stunting. After I got rid of that bike its been all about triple digit speeds and 2 wheels on the ground.

I need to do some work to my bike to make it track legal I think.

I do not race because there is no way I would be competetive, the fast guys grew up riding/racing since they could walk, there is 12 year olds racing mini-gp bikes, it is crazy getting passed by a bike half the size of yours !

Those gp bikes are fast I would love to test one of them out. I bet they handle those turns way better then a 1000

Yeah, I enjoy passing 1000cc bikes on the track, it is so easy because the straight away is only 1/4 mile and the rest of the track is almost all turns, sometimes having a 600cc is the way to go.

i guess im outta place here but im a harley rider so dont shoot me :SURRENDER. i have an 04 883 custom with some engine and other upgrades that i ride for now until i save up for a bigger harley cant have a crotch rocket cause they dont fit me and i would kill myself although i have been riding since i could walk. i would be the guy doing a wheelie at 90mph down 95

Yea honestly I only had rockets before but I’m thinking of selling mine and getting a Harley got my eye one of those night trains up at mikes the old lady hates riding long trips on this bike but then again that’s why they call it the bitch pad right.

Harleys are great bikes, My brother has a Night train with about $20 grand of custom work done to it, no way to afford the parts for one. I will ride the crotch rocket until my back gives out lOl

OK , heres one you two wheelers will like. I sent this to a neighbor who used to do a lot of dirt track racing when he was younger. a nice lap around the 16.1 mile long Nurburgring. His lap is actually about what most formula one cars go. but he had that gyro cam on board, and it was his first time there. Still, his time for the course, if it was the full 16.1 mile long course averaged 123 MPH overall. not bad considering there are 170 turns on the course each lap.

Too fast for me,

Well I don’t ride motor cycles at this time I do have a pair of honda 450r quads, one of which is completly raced out as I raced cross country with it(trail racing) yes I agree motors and wheels+ saltwater fish=$$$!

I bet I know the reasoning for this ::thumbsup::… Harley guys might not.
I won’t go to a Harley for some time. I just love the way our bikes handle and all the added benefits that come with owning a streetbike. But I have respect for any rider, I will ride with anyone that can ride.

Yes I agree respect to all riders of any bike. And i agree with the handling capabilities of the rockets and i have riden my share but I took comfort over speed and agility.not that my bike isn’t fast enough and handles great they just each have their advantages and disadvantages. And i am not a Harley or nothing guy Honda and Kawasaki etc make some nice cruisers

I did have some fun on a buddies Ducati once 0-100 in about 4 seconds maybe less and didn’t even shift to second till about 85. Crazy fast bike I would either be dead or in jail if I had a bike like that maybe not now tho I have mellowed a bit since then but now that I have a bike i can ride a few hundred miles straight and not feel like my backs gonna give out I doubt ill switch over. I might build an old school cafe racer tho

I ride a Suzuki cruiser, and have no interest in triple digit speeds. I enjoy cruising and the scenery, and that is harder to do over 75 anyway. Plus I can stop for a gallon of milk and eggs on the way home. YahoO

Nothing against rockets, just not my thing.

Everyone is entitled to they’re own choosing. I used to stop for diapers and groceries on my first bike haha…

I would actually like to try out a Harley just to see how they feel and ride… I would think the vibrations would annoy me a bit tho.

With the rubber mounted engines since 04 the vibrations are much less

Picked up a new toy yesterday thought I would share Lots of fun fast Its a 1985 Honda Oydessey with a 350cc motor picked it up for $200 >LOL<

That brings back memories, My father got one for my brothers and I one year, we destroyed the back yard in a matter of 3 days, my Mother came home to find out her back yard was a swamp instead of a nice lawn!Be careful, they flip easily if you hit snow banks the right way, speaking from experience! lOl Otherwise great steal, they are a blast
