I just realized that I never uploaded any more pictures… Tomorrow I’ll post Belize '08 and Tobago '08 from Keleigh’s trip.
It locks up can you edit the size a bit?
We ask that you never try to divide the dry form of any denomination of our Saltwater Correct Custom Made Organic 2 Part Aquaculture Sea Salt mixes to make smaller denomination.
Reason is that our 25 gallon and 5 gallon salt mix packets are stirred but not totally mixed.
If you try to divide any of the dry form denomination to smaller denomination the formula will not be 100% the same for each denomination and again because our product is stirred but not totally mixed.
For those of you that can not make or store an entire 25 gallon salt mix or want the economics of buying the 25 gallon salt mix instead of the 5 gallon, please read on.
I would like to help you save money any way I can, so by making a concentrated liquid slurry out of 1-25 gallon mix of Saltwater Correct Custom Made Organic 2 Part Aquaculture Sea Salt to make five-five gallon denominations for water changes will be more economical then to buy the single five gallon salt mixes.
Directions:
Use any 1 gallon food grade container (i.e. ice tea or milk) and fill with filtered water.
Take 2-5 gallon buckets and add 1 gallon of water to each bucket.
Use a permanent marker and draw a line at the top of the 1 gallon water level for both buckets.
Repeat adding 1 gallon of water until you have 5-1 gallon water lines for each bucket.
Take bucket #1 and add filtered water to the 3 gallon water line.
Take 1-25 gallon salt mix, open and remove the calcium packet before adding the salt mix to the 3 gallons of filtered water (never add the calcium packet to the salt mix).
Stir salt mix and filtered water vigorously (this step may take a little time to dissolve), now top of the last 2 gallons of filtered water that will make the total of 5 gallons.
You have now made concentrated liquid slurry out of 1-25 gallon dry form mix of Saltwater Correct Custom Made Organic 2 Part Aquaculture Sea Salt.
Take bucket #2 and add 1 gallon of the concentrated liquid sea salt slurry out of bucket #1.
Now bucket #2 has I gallon of the concentrated liquid sea salt slurry, add 3 gallons of filtered water to the concentrated liquid sea salt slurry and mix.
I recommend first time users use their refractometer to adjust the salinity to1.026 / 35 ppt or to your target values.
You have now made 5 gallons of Saltwater Correct Custom Made Organic 2 Part Aquaculture Sea Salt.
Remember that it takes approximately 1 teaspoon of calcium for each gallon of water.
