Seriously welcome to De, and can’t wait to meet you at the next meeting.
To answer your questions, I’ve spent the last 3 years living in Douglas (little town in southeast AZ on the Mexico border). I now live just outside of Newark. Our apartment’s technically a half-mile over the MD border but we spend most of our time in DE anyway as it’s closer for shopping and all). I’ve been suprised how many other “westerners” I’ve met out here. Seems like quite a few come out for school and then end up staying. My wife and I love it out here and have no plans to go back… well, just to take our kids back to visit their grandparents now and then. Question: the William Penn HS where the next meeting is at is in New Castle, correct?
Yup.
It should say that somewhere on the website, but it isn’t easy to find. Might suggest at a meeting that they change that.
One of the guys in the club lives about 200 meters from the MD/DE state line. I’m just a mile from it down route 40.
Glad your here and settled in and good luck again with the job search.
Welcome Home!!
Boy I sure miss road trips like that. used to do it all the time. NJ or PA to CA and back and forth every few years. used to drive it in 4 days. but i had 7 days travel time and expense pay. So i would drive long and hard, hit vegas and then INVEST my expense money for the couple extra days on the way.
Hey its ok. People from Elkton or whatever are always welcome in the club. Its close. Welcome aboard.
William Penn High School,
713 E. Basin Road
New Castle, DE 19720
See you there. Bring your pet fish, Gill, too!
