I took the MP 40 out for cleaning then put it back in the tank. All of the sudden the wet side unit of my MP 40 starting to turn with the direction of the dry side motor. I never mess with the dry side. Why is it doing that? Those MP 40 owner ever have this issue? if so what did you do to stop it from turning? Thanks
Do you mean WET side assembly turning? It happen to me a few times when shaft wear through. Maybe you left washer out or cage part is not locked in place.
Yes, WET side assembly is turning. When you say shaft wear through. You mean the magnet coming through the plastic or the shaft that hold the impeller? I don’t see any ware down on either.
Not sure A I have two and have had them apart completely but never had any problems when they restarted. Like Rosti said check to make sure that little washer is there make sure the nut is tight and the cage is fully seated.

Well, I took it all apart and put it back together again. I guess the reason why the wet side was turning was because I took the spacer off the dry side and put it back in the wrong hole to where it was less magnetism. It was off about 2 or 3 hole so, that why it was loose and turning. Thank for the help guys.
