these are the corals from mr. coral they actually look better in the picture than in person. I am kind of disappointed. They are very faint in color and some are bleached. They actually seemed to get more color in a matter of hours if that’s possible? If they color and grow i will be completely satisfied but time will tell
good luck! some of them should make it. keep us posted
Wow thats alot of frags! cant wait till my corals grow so i can share them with everyone
Nice Tim. That is the stress of shipping. If it hasn’t completely bleached, it should get well in a few days. I’ll stop by at the end of the week to check it out, if you don’t mind.

LMK about this mtg.
Good luck with your new frags.
But I must disagree with reefman66 when he says “that is the stress of shipping”. If the frag is a quality coral, in good health and hardy, it should not have any problem being shipped overnight. I have shipped my frags as far as Alaska, which really makes them stay in the box a long time, and have had no problems. When a coral hasn’t gotten over the stress of being shipped and then is cut up and shipped out right away, it chances of survival is very limited. IMO.
yeah well guess i’ll know in a week i hope they are ok they did seem to regain color after an hour but not near what they should be

I agree with you John. When you shipped your frags as far as Alaska, your frags are well encrusted and healed and ready to be shipped. However, on the other hand. When a frag has just been cut it don’t have time to heal, stressed out and then gets glue to a plug then gets shipped. Then being in that water for at least 24hr. That’s what I mean for being stress from shipping; coming from the place he ordered.
I also have ordered from there before. And the corals came in the same shape as Tim mentioned. It took them a while it get back in shape, but it made it through. 4 out of 5 did make it and it’s encrusting nicely.
A few are gone, Doa, most have good PE a few that have color haven’t extended polyps. Just gonna let them be and hope for the best
dunk did you say your going to let them be? I don’t believe you. I’m betting by the end of the week you will have. Half of them glued to a rock that you moved 12x’s by Saturday! Jus sayin
Ha ha mind ur business and overfeed ur fish lol. If I have spare time I’ll look on the Internet for some phosphate and nitrate additive for you, so you can speed up the process YahoO
lOl
I see your getting smart and trying to deflect from the statement I made! Your not denying my statment either! PoM
You 2 are killing me!! you guys should be brothers!
Why do you the I want a bigger tank? I wanna swim with them I can’t stay away. Oh I have a squid left over from fishing I’ll drop it off you can hang it in the tank PBJ! Soon it’ll be like this> slap-stick

Your missing something. Before it is cut it comes out of a bag 3 second earlier(from when they received it in the mail). It was in the bag from Cali for a day. Before that it was in a dirt cheap horrible condition holding facility in the islands. Before that it was ripped from the reef and thrown on a boat with little care or respect for the animal.
Some vendors will only buy from reputable wholesalers who ensure the corals are collected in a responsible manner. Some venders will QT their animals. Very few, but some will wait to cut the animals up until they’ve recovered from the stress of travel and are growing in the system. Some will make sure the new frags are grown out on the plugs/rocks so they are healthy and ready for shipping.
Really doesn’t matter they are just colored rocks and the cheaper the better. READ SARCASM!
Delaware reef club should support businesses with responsible practices, not chop shops. I know the clubs been on a kick recently to get as many sponsors(aka as much free crap and deals) as possible recently. When the club shows someone’s banner on our site we support them as well. Some standards should be set.
yeah i found them here. Don’t want to sound too noobie but what exactly is aquacultured/maricultured. what is the difference? I thought one is grown int the wild and one grown in a store but which is which and what way is better
I could get on a soap box here and also could get in trouble likely explaining why I choose the name for my business. I’ll try to keep it short and to the point.
Unfortunately you need to ask people who use those words what they mean. They are VERY far from legal terms. There is also 0 consequence for flat out lying about the terms. Neither legal consequences nor financial exist. Our hobby is dominated by people who are new to the hobby and don’t yet know or care if an animal was used and abused. Not only do they not care, but if the animal dies more than likely the hobbyist may assume that their tank was just not ready or it was there fault. Even “experienced†seasoned hobbyist send in financial support to chops shops every day. Can’t beat a $10 frag, though I’m pretty sure our market place and frag farm forums have locally aquacultured frags from fellow hobbyist for pretty cheap.
To some “Aquacultured” means they cut it up when they took it out of the bag so they changed it somehow from what it was like coming out of the wild. That to me isn’t aquacultured at all. To some “Aquacultured” means they chopped something up after it got in out of the wild and the ones that survived grew out a bit before selling.
Maricultured means that it was grown out in the ocean. Often times cuttings are taken in the wild then grown on huge “Frag racks†of PVC and egg create or netting. These corals grow rapidly from tiny frags so decent size animals are grown out and ready for shipping vs fresh cut animals off the reef.
Hobbyist really need to press suppliers to find out what this term means. Typically in the industry the term means, “I am asking more money for this and selling it to people who want to do the right thing, but don’t understand what it means”. It’s just like slapping the word “Ausi”(which isn’t even really a word) just to charge a higher price.
Good luck with your frags Dunk! All i know, is that of the 14 mrcoral frags i purchased about 7 months ago, 13 of them still are doing just fine (1 chalice fell into some palys and bleached, but still has some life to it). They were obviously fresh cut and glued, and seemed they took a little longer to adapt and start growing compared to other frags i’ve acquired…but… They lived, they’re beautiful, and they were affordable.
