Oh I’m not gonna give up at all. I had the dr. Mac coral forget the name but it was green with red polyps. A Lot had trouble with it bleaching. I was so close to dumping it and in a matter of a week it now looks as good as the day I bought it.
I dropped my photo period and have them 6" from the bottom don’t know what else I could do to give them a fighting chance.
MO I’d bring it up to at least half way up in your tank Tim, your tank is tall. They do need light as well. and leave them alone for a while.
You think? I figured if they’re turning white good water a low light could color them. If they’re white already more light could speed the process up.
Well, to me I think they need little bit more light. You’re not putting it on the top near the surface and your tank is tall, but that’s me.
I’m with these guys, they only need reduced light for a short period of time to get used to the intensity. If I add corals to the bottom of the tank I don’t reduce the photo period at all, I just start them low and work them up in the tank over the next couple weeks.
Given these are already fighting to survive you want to make sure you’re giving them adequate light to convert to energy and thus tissue formation.
