Mule31's 90 Gallon build

Hi Guys! My name is Steve and I am new to DRC. I have been a DVRC member (I am currently a BOD member over there) for the last 3-4 years. I have been meaning to join up for a while, but havent had the time year. I just redid my 90 gallon tank again, so figured it was a good time to start a page.

Here are some details on my tank:

90 Gallon Marineland tank
2 AI Sol Blue lights (brand new this week)
No skimmer (been skimmerless for 6 weeks and seems to be working well)
Cryptic Fuge
Hydor heaters
RKL Controller

My tank currently only has a pair of clarkiis (I lost all my fish about 3 months ago to some disease, was fallow for 9 weeks) a bta and a selection of LPS (Acans and chalices). I have a serious acan addition. I have a BTA and a couple of SPS. Currently working on my socking lists, so any ideas are great. I will take more picks once my lights are up and full power tomorrow.

Here is the last pic taken with my T5s after I put in my new rocks.

Welcome Steve :Welcome)

Nice to have ya here ;D Looks like a nice variety of corals in there.

Welcome to the DRC Steve - you started a great thread- we love tank builds around here. Nice rocks, I like when a tank isn’t overloaded with them, lots more room for grow out and room for fish to swim.

Hey, old friend, welcome aboard.

Thanks all. I’m really excited by this build. I lost a ton of fish and some corals during my crash, but I like the fact that I get to “start over” as far as stocking goes. I had a lot of mistakes in the last tank that caused some issues with stocking. I can’t wait to jump on this board too. Now I have more ways to waste time at work besides RC and DVRC.

Why not fill out your day and put NJRC on your list too. ::thumbsup::

I am close enough… I may have to do that now.

Hey Steve… Nice tank, good luck with the addiction ::rofl::

:Welcome) to DRC

haha one of the few not banned

I just dont post enough over there.

Here are some new pics from this weekend. I redid my plumbing to put in a herbie.

OK I’ll bite … what’s a herbie?

Hey Steve, welcome!

Herbie style overflow. It’s one way to run your aquarium more silently. You’d know that if you read the links I sent you to try to help you with your noisy set up. :stuck_out_tongue: Offer is still there for help if you decide to move forward with making changes.

Herbie is a stand pipe style over flow like durso or newer version BeanAnimal with extra emergency over flow pipe. I’m sure you’re using one on your tank Craig.

LMAO - I have 2 holes drilled i the back of my tank with a couple PVC pipes running directly to my sump. One of the benefits to being hard of hearing is the noise of my overflow doesn’t bother me at all.
