So I was on craigslist like always searching…and i came across two mp-40’s for $550. The sale thread was about a week and a half old, so i figured they were sold…i e-mailed anyway, and they were still around some how…so today i took a trip to holland, pa to get these puppies…

messing with syncing them now. much more power than my mp20.
also the more i read about the modes on the ecotech controller compared to the mp40w controller, im starting to like it even more…the tidal aspects of the ecotech controller are starting to sell me…i just dont think i ca control my mp40w with an ecotech, so id have to have two new controllers to sync them which is the downfall.

huh?
i quickly skimmed over the first thread. very cool mode that would make sense if you owned the Neptune controller. also very easy DIY project. Im not so sure that anything in your tank will appreciate the mod but it would be fun to do! Personally, im not sure why you would want that type of control or what you would do with it that would be more beneficial than the pre-set modes on the driver. IMO the random modes are what makes the Vortech such a good pump and im not sure that this MOD could do it any better. It makes sense if you have a Neptune controller on your system but IMO it doesnt make sense to buy a Neptune Controller just to mod the Ecotech. Very cool nonetheless.
two are going on my 55…one is being sold to make this net transaction beautiful… Saint:)
i think this is why the ES controller may be a little better (doing some copy n pasting):
[b]EcoSmart Nutrient Transport Mode (NTM) - A two phase program to promote maximum health and nutrient export, as well as increased growth for corals. Alternates between a resonant standing wave and a surge effect to stir up and export nutrients.
EcoSmart Tidal Swell Mode (TSM) - Creates a harmonic balance in your aquarium reminiscent of the changing flow conditions that would be found in nature. Flow varies from left to right, right to left, calm, and ends with a great surge.
Auto-Dim - LED’s are turned off and display knob dimmed significantly, but pump functions in its current mode. User can program how long after use before the driver enters Auto-Dim.
On/Off Switch - Tap the on/off switch to turn off and turn on a pump. Hold this button to turn off all pumps in a master/slave group. Tap any pump in the groups’ on/off switch and that pump will turn back on.

And also it said somewhere this things have a greater range…so i was wondering if i could have one downstairs communicating with a pump i could have on a tank upstairs. this isnt too cool but it would be a cool option.
I know what we were talking about and since you already have a 40 controller it doesnt seem like the benefits are worth the cost…thats why i want to get it for the 20.
Can just see an infomercial for this. “These pumps will not only help your fish grow and put on muscle mass swimming against the current, but once they’ve reached the proper size just push the button and BOOM instant blended sushi. It slices. It dices. It even helps clean your tank!..”
