My snorkeling trip

Hello all! Wish I could have been at the BBQ, sorry I had to miss it. Hope you all had a great time. However I was having my own reef experience! My husband and I went on a trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and while we were there we went snorkeling-Ablsolutely awesome! THis is my second time snorkeling but last time was pre reef tank so I had no idea what I was seeing so this time it was even better.
Unfortunately we didn’t take any pics because we didn’t feel like carrying an underwater camera but it was like looking at a 3d Imax movie but being able to touch it! The fish were obviously used to humans as I was able to reach out and pet a fish! < There was a school of what looked to be large striped damsels and we saw a few queen angels swimming around too. I saw a maze coral that was about the size of a volkswagen! THere were a lot of finger leathers and urchins. My husband actually dove down to under a cave to see even more fish hiding in there but I wasnt brave enough to go that deep. Luckily we didnt see any “big fish”! The water was so warm and clear, it was just amazing. I cant wait to go snorkeling again. I was seriously considering if U.S. Customs would have a problem if I had coral in my suitcase! lol! Oh and the seaweed"cheato" and caluerpa that we all pay money for was just washes up on the beaches so much that they have people cleaning it and trashing it!!! Crazy!

Hey Jessica sounds like you had a great time.

ANY PICTURES :P

Bill, you are a pervert. Ahh, you mean pictures of the dive! ::rofl::

::rofl:: ::rofl:: ::rofl:: ::rofl:: haha! Sorry no pics. We were too lazy to carry a waterproof camera. It was kind of cloudy too so they wouldn’t have come out that good anyway.

As a side note it was great to see a reef and not to have to clean it or do a water change or feed someone! GolfC

Opp sorry ::thinking:: cant let side out to much :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway no pics OF THE DIVE ::rofl:: your fired WTH ;D

He is doing great. I thought he and my sailfin tang were going to have issues the first few days but they worked it out and now the foxface is part of the gang YahoO
I have been trying to grow some macro algae in my display tank for them but every time I anchor a handful, the foxface and tang attack it and within a day its gone… I’ll put some pics of him up.

Same here, try to grow some in fuge and feed one or twice a week.

Rosti, I am going to try that for now. Its a shame they just wont leave it alone for a day or two and let it take root. I guess its bittersweet that I have no hair algae in my tank YahoO
