Few pictures of my 40B, its a combination of my 24g nano, and a 10 gallon nano.
Left side is rock thats from my 24g so it has coralline on it, the right side will get there eventually.
Also trying to bring back a semi bleached BTA on the right side, so yes i know its not in the best shape.
I seriously need some corals, im looking for acans and nice zoas/palys
Living in jersey, and not being in the saltwater thing for very long i havent been able to track many down, or find anything
The rock work looks a bit off to what most people go for, but i wanted to keep my rbta and my gbta away from each other by doing mounds of rock on each side.
I do want to fill in the middle with some corals when i find them.
not sure why you say that. those are both pretty unusual colors for acans and very nice looking. especially the one on the bottom that looks like it might be morphing. after its established, you might want to try moving it around in the tank to see if you can bring out those colors starting to show. acans and zoos can change drastically under different conditions. a lot of LE acans are actually morphs of more common looking ones.
I got them from “the aquarium center” in blckwood new jersey.
Logans_daddy: thanks for the info, guess I made out better than I thought! The bottom one is purple/teal/green/neon orange. I’m hoping when it grows out that more of the other colors come out.
RCA: I have seen that website and I would love to go there but it’s almost 3 hours from me. Might end up doing an online order, shipping was only 15 which is well worth my time and gas of driving.
I’m practically in Delaware, as soon as you get over the bridge into jersey you are only seconds from my house.
Also thank you for the tank comment. I want to keep the anemone in their own areas so they won’t wander to far haha. But it does give the fish more swim area.
Typed all this on my iPhone. Sorry for the formatting and no using quotes. And potential grammar problems!
Well no longer sumpless. Did just a small one for some chaeto and to get the equipment off the back of the tank. Ditched the HOB filter and just using a media rack in the sump with filter floss GFO and carbon also added skimmer. Lighting is temporary for now on the fuge, 96w of T5-HO is overkill for chaeto.
I had to take down my rockwork to catch a rouge fish, never stacked it back up. I think im just going to leave it that way for awhile.
Next steps are going to be clean up the wiring and plumbing a bit, a reefkeeper, phosban reactor, and finish the the stand and put cabinet doors on it.
Anyone know where i can get a big sheet of black vinyl to put on the back of the tank? Or should i just use 5% window tint for cars and do it twice?
Im not sure where you live, but there is a place at churchmans rd X airport rd that you can walk in and have it cut while your waiting. i bought a 36" X 96" piece of black vinyl for about $30 for my 265g tank.

I live in jersey, are you talking about off of 13 or down 95 near the mall?
In all honesty Delaware is closer to me than anything. It takes me 30 seconds to get to the bridge, then 5+ minutes to get to 13 near the airport. I literally make the right out of my road and the exit for the bridge is right there.
It takes me 15 minutes to get to a bestbuy in delaware, or 30-45 to get to one in jersey.
Thats why i use this forum and not NJ’s reef club. They are hours away, you guys are minutes away.
